How long have you been working with Beech Valley?
I worked with Beech Valley from 2019 to 2022.
How many projects did you take on?
I have worked on several projects over the last few years. In the last 18 months, I have completed several different projects with the same Beech Valley client.
Do you still work with that company?
Yes. The client is extremely satisfied with my work, and continues to place me on new projects.
What motivated you to take the leap from full-time to freelancing?
Honestly, I appreciate the straight-forward approach to consultancy work. I worked at one of the Big Four for many years. I was never very interested in office politics or hierarchy. I simply wanted to be paid for the hours I worked, and keep it simple. Through these projects with Beech Valley I have been able to do just that. I truly have taken my career advancement into my own hands, and my work speaks for itself. I didn’t have to have meetings with partners outlining how I could advance at the firm. I can work hard, and do good work and therefore am able to advance and develop–take on harder projects and further prove my capabilities.
Some people work well in a space where advancement and projects are achieved through a very specific firm structure, but that isn’t me. I just want to do the work and be paid for every hour I work.
With Beech Valley, I know that if a project requires hours on the weekend, or late at night, I will get paid for those hours.
How did Beech Valley influence your career and life path?
Beech Valley offered me an impressive list of clients with interesting projects. I was able to chose which client and which projects appealed most to me and my skillset.
Working through Beech Valley has allowed me an ideal work-life balance. I work hard and get paid for every hour I work. Then, I can enjoy the rest of my life. I can truly leave work at work.
When I am not working on Beech Valley projects, I am an avid hiker and am currently renovating my new home.
