I worked with Beech Valley from 2018 to 2022.
How many projects did you take on?
I have worked on two projects via Beech Valley. The first one lasted a year-and-a-half with a top consulting firm. Unfortunately, that project ended due to COVID-19 Pandemic. Beech Valley then connected me with another great firm through my profile on the Beech Valley A-List.
Do you still work with that company?
Yes, the second company offered me a full-time manager position within the CFO Advisory area.
What motivated you to take the leap from full-time to freelancing?
I used to work as a full-time employee for a private company in Virginia, but I got married and moved to another state. Since my husband and I planned to go back to Vietnam to visit for a few months – I decided I didn’t want to find full-time employment yet. I felt it wouldn’t look good if I just started working and then asked for two months off to go on vacation.
Luckily, I found Beech Valley through one of the job posting websites – they were looking for a consultant to work on a project for three months. I thought it was a perfect opportunity to work remotely and then take a vacation. The flexibility and high pay rate motivated me to apply for the position.
When I returned from vacation, the client asked me to continue to work on the project for them. I was more than happy to do that since the compensation was great, and I got paid for every hour I worked. They also reimbursed me for my travel expenses, which was super nice!
How did Beech Valley influence your career and life path?
Beech Valley has opened doors for me to meet their premier clients. They have given me opportunities for professional growth and to diversify my skill sets. Without them, I would not be able to get a full-time remote position with one of the top 25 accounting and consulting firms in the nation. Thank you Beech Valley!
